The Extension

By 1981 more space was needed and a ruined bothy across the road was conveyed to the Society by Fife County Council. The Extension was built by Ian Ross of Hurd Rolland Partnership, with grants from the Countryside Commission, the Pilgirm Trust, the Russell Trust, Fife Regional Council and North East Fife District Council. It was opened in 1984 by Sir John Gilmour.
The extension houses the Museum Shop, rotating exhibits, the curator's office, and the workshop.
The shop is fully stocked with local preserves, work from nearby woodworkers and artists, handmade cards, recipes, books, music, children's toys and much more! Come by to have a chat with one of our volunteers and see what we have to offer.
